What laws apply to homemade foodstuffs for sale in small quantities?

I would like to start a home business of selling specialty cookies over the internet. This will be a small production, cottage industry. I know that there are a separate set of laws governing small scale food stuffs being sold through non-retail outlets (ie fairs, open air markets) . What I would like to know is where to find the laws that will apply to me. Thanks to anyone for their help. What laws apply to homemade foodstuffs for sale in small quantities?
Simple answer is the weights and measures act . If you need specific information go to the web site of your local authority and look under trading standards .most tsd departments have trader information leaflets which cover aspects such as this . if this isnt helpful simply give them a ringWhat laws apply to homemade foodstuffs for sale in small quantities?
