I would like to find a golden lab for sale to train for my autistic son?

I have an autistic son and I would like to find a golden lab to train for him. I want the dog for safety reasons with my son. I have researched dogs specifically trained for autistic children. However they want way too much money that I don't have nor have access to so I would like to find a son that I could train myself for my little one.I would like to find a golden lab for sale to train for my autistic son?
I know how successful dogs trained for autistic children can be so I hope you have the opportunity of finding a suitable dog, I think you need to get some support and help in training the dog as well as selecting the right dog, is it possible to fund raise to enable your son to have a trained dog from the organisations? The dog will probably act as an anchor to stop the child from bolting as well as being trained to do many other tasks it is specialised training and you really need someone who has experience with this training, I would get in touch with the organisations again and tell them you are unable to fund the dog and see if they can offer you any help, or can suggest anything which may help, otherwise it may help to find another person who has self trained who can assist you. I wish you luck as I know how much these dogs can help the child and their families.I would like to find a golden lab for sale to train for my autistic son?
Do you have the time and more importantly the ability to train the dog? If so, call a golden lab rescue. They specifically take in that breed only if they have no home and some may already be trained. If you cannot find on in a directory ask a veterinarian or the local humane society where to reach the rescue group
Service dog organizations often have funding set up to help get dogs for the purpose you want one for.

It is not easy for a novice to train a dog for service work.....it takes a lot of experience...even if you wish to train one yourself you will need ot enlist the help of a trainer knowledgable in this type of training and the special needs of your son.

Why are you looking specifically for a Golden Retreiver/Labrador Retreiver mix for this purpose? A Golden Retreiver or a Labrador retreiver would be good. Labradors are often used for this purpose.
if your income does not allow for you to afford it your insurance may help you wit getting a guide dog or else contact an autism charity organization and show them proof of income and perhaps they will help you cover the costs
there are several different places that you could that they could train them for you. go onto google and lookup handicap dogs. they're trained for these reasons especially.
Do you have an organization that trains service dogs in your area? What exactly are you going to train the dog to do?

I volunteer with an organization that trains service dogs. Finding a dog with the right temperament is difficult. You'd want to see if there is an organization near you that can help you with the training and help you select a dog. I'd recommend getting a pup that's around 6 months old so that you have a better idea of the temperament and the ability to work.

Look up Assitance Dogs International, Inc and see if there is a program near you.

EDIT: I wouldn't limit yourself to a particular color of lab. Temperament of the dog is the key, not the coat color. =)
GOLDEN LABS ARE A LITTAL HYPER AND NOT SO BRITE , YOU WOULD BE BETTER WITH A BLACK FEMALE LAB. TRUST ME THEY ARE VERY GOOD WITH KIDS I HAD ONE GROWING UP AND I MISS HER
The facilities that train these dogs go through many dogs before they find one that has the intelligence and desire to meet the needs of a handicapped person. You can't tell by looking at a puppy if he has the natural ability and desire. The dog you purchase may not be suitable so if you really need this dog for this purpose I would suggest paying the money. A lot of knowledge and time goes into these dogs so while expensive I believe the prices are probably justified.
Labrador rescue centers are, usually, homes where loving, dedicated people temporarily care for and want homes for these gentle creatures. The price for such a dog is usually the cost of the care that the dog received. Other, mixed breed dogs, can also serve the purpose and may need rescuing from the local pound.
