I am divorcing and my spouse want to save on commissionn but I believe this will be more of a hassle than it's worth. It's 1/2 acre building lot in very nice community.Is selling your lot for sale by owner better than listing with agent?
I don't know this for a fact but on Property Ladder the specialist said that, statistically, homes sold by owner don't sell as fast or for as much.Is selling your lot for sale by owner better than listing with agent?

Do you know all the local laws regarding selling property?





Do you know how to write a legally binding purchase agreement that protects all parties?





Do you know what to do in order to close the sale and transfer the deed?





If yes to the above, certainly do it your self. If not, pay the professional to do it for you.
Sure, call a local title company. They will help you out for a fee that will be much less than any commission. You will have to do the contract yourself, but they can be a simple or as complex as you like them to be. You can even get blank contracts from the title company and fill them out yourself.
